Girls road trip to San Antonio!

July 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

My 2 daughters and I were recently surprised with a fantastic trip to San Antonio for 5 days. My wonderful stepmom, Shirley loaded us all up and we headed out for some r&r, girl talk and of course, shopping! We had a great trip inspite of the rain. We ate, shopped, walked the riverwalk, went on a tour of SA, did seaworld, stayed up late and laughed so much I thought I was going to bust!  We really needed this trip and such fun memories were made. Shirley- Thanks so much! We love you- you have a special place in our hearts.

Check out the fun in the photos below..and if you are in the area you’ve got to go eat at Mi Tierra in the Market Square. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so much fun.

New Little Red Rockin’ in the Quarter New Orleans painting

July 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Little Red Rockin’ in

Here’s a quick peek at my newest painting. It’s a very fun, funky red shotgun house in a 16 x 20. I’ve aptly named this one Little Red Rockin in the Quarter. Looks like it’s going to be snagged up even before I get to list it on my website. I’ll know more in a day or so, and if not I’ll be placing it up for sale directly on www.neworleans-paintings.com

Don’t worry though, if  you just love it commissions of a similar piece in the same vein are available in a 16 x 20 for $425.00. I’m also on the way over to my printing company to have a professional scan made of this piece so I’ll soon be offering gicless on canvas of this image. Once all the scans have been taken I’ll post more info.

On a personal note, we’ve been super busy with family stuff. My oldest is getting ready to go off to college and that has brought a huge list of to-do’s in preparation  for that. I’ve been taking it a bit slower this summer, spending time with her because this maybe our last one together. I sure hope  not but who knows what the future may hold later on..so in the same vein as that old saying of quiet down cobwebs–paintings will keep but your children grow up so fast. I encourage you to slow down this weekend, and spend some real time listening, loving and laughing. Because at the end of the day money just doesn’t matter like your kids do!

The studio is coming along.. been a tough little building to tackle. I’m moving in some today anyway even though we aren’t completely finished. I just can’t take another minute of not getting in there and painting! =)

 Time to run!
